Physical Therapy Day 7-9

Oh my, this was not my best day at Physical Therapy.  I was so exhausted for some reason that I ended up only being able to do 1/2 of my exercises.  I did do 7 minutes on the elliptical type machine but that was about all I could do.  After doing 4 other exercises, I was done.  I just couldn't do anymore.  It is the first time I wasn't able to finish all my exercises.  Wednesday is my last day for Physical Therapy.  I have Occupational Therapy tomorrow.  I think this whole week is filled with therapy.  I suppose that would be because 4 days this week I have therapy of some sort.  I don't even think I can do my home exercises tonight.  I will skip them tonight.

I have had one student stop lessons for the summer now.  Selma is taking a break until Fall.  I am disappointed because she is such a good student, but I do totally understand.  She is on vacation right now and won't be home for a few weeks.  I am not sure what happened to Isaac, but he didn't come to his lesson today.  I am planning on calling his mom tomorrow to see what happened.  I thought it was just last week and next week he is at camp, not this week.

I only had 2 lessons today, Rachel and Bob.  Rachel is now 7.  She is such a cute girl.  She works so hard at piano.  Rachel started just over a year ago.  Bob is retired and has been playing piano for a long time.  I have had him as a student for about 5 years or so now.  I am not sure exactly how long.  Bob is playing a wonderful Sonata by Handel.  It is one of my favorites and it is 5 pages long.  He is also playing one of Bach's preludes.  It is really a neat one and he should be done with it by the end of summer, just in time to start on, I can't believe it is coming to that time again, Christmas.  Because he is advanced, we have to start on Christmas in September.  Many of my older and more advanced students do have to start Christmas music in September.  The other ones can wait until October.  I love Christmas music a lot.  Mom used to have this rule that we couldn't put on Christmas music until the day after Thanksgiving and we had to turn it off on New Year's Day.  This was started because I listened to my little Christmas records all year long and it drove my mother crazy so she started the rule when I was small.  Now that I can listen to it whenever I want, I find that I don't want to hear it on the radio or on a CD until after Thanksgiving.  However, to in order to be ready for the concert in December, the students have to start early with the songs.

Tomorrow I have several lessons because Deema and Wama will be absent on Thursday so we are making it up tomorrow instead.  I also have my 2 regular students tomorrow too.  One is voice and the other is piano.

I am going to read a bit.  I finished the Kristin Hannah book this afternoon so I am reading a different one now.  I sure hope therapy goes better tomorrow than it did today.

  1. Cheer up! You can try to condition yourself by saying, “I can do it right, today!” SMILE! =) It creates a positive aura. Motivating yourself will help you get through the exercise. It would be best if you are in good condition both physically and mentally for you to achieve the goal of the exercise. I bet you can do it right!

  2. Sienna's right. Positive notions lead to positive results, Heather and Kathy. :) What exercises do you usually do? I suggest you try plank exercise. It also suppresses anxiety. See for yourself, girl.
